XBox won’t connect to internet

Ok so I’ve had my XBox for 8 years and use it regularly. I got it cleaned one day because I hadn’t the whole time I had it and I figured it needed it. I just got it back and it’s turning on and everything seems to work except it’s refusing to connect to the internet.

I’ve restarted it, followed all the steps to troubleshoot it on the support site, and nothings working. When I run a diagnostic it says it doesn’t know what the problem is and when I search for my network it suddenly says it doesn’t support that type of network (nothing has changed about the network since I got it back). I’m honestly out of ideas on how to get it to work.

We may need to perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

" 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

there isn’t an active box. there are disable, allow, or deny boxes though. my xbox was connected to the internet fine then the xbox randomly turned itself off and it won’t connect. i’ve reset the wifi and everything.

Yes this is the only game , and yes the Xbox has Xbox live and is connected to the internet, it won’t let me sync the game either so I don’t know what the issue will be

I’m having the same issue. Told me to connect to Xbox live but it won’t connect. I am connected to the internet because the other apps work. Can’t contact Xbox because their virtual assistant is a nightmare and freezes up.

So I tried to remove my account and re add it, but now it won’t even let me add an account back to the Xbox. Now I can’t use any apps. Basically stuck.

Have you tried making your phone a hotspot and connecting using wifi? You won’t be able to connect to internet using a USB cable.
