Xbox won’t connect to internet during initial setup

Have you tried setting up the console using a wired connection?

Personally, I had trouble setting my console up because it thought it was connected to the internet, but it was not receiving any signal (see following Community
Forum Post from 14th November.

My recommendation would be to try and set up via wired internet connection first. If you still struggle, hold down the Xbox button for 10 seconds to 'hard shut down' the console. Then reboot and it should have cleared the MAC address and open up access to
the internet.

I see. Please try setting up a mobile hotspot connection using your phone, then during the initial setup procedure when prompted to connect to the Internet. Connect the console to the mobile hotspot connection. Try updating your console after that and see if it works.

Typically Hotel internet requires Web Browser login. I do not believe that Web Login is supported during initial setup. It may work better to tether to your phone, if possible, just for the initial setup, and then switch to the Hotel Internet once you
are past that spot.

I disagree what you said. And I never paid close attention to the agree terms and condition because I don’t really care about it. True that I own the hardware from ms

But not the system software running on. And not true that most devices are required an internet connection for initial setup what about smartphones if you have zero internet in your home and buy a smartphone with sim you should be able to setup it up with an internet connection. But use topped up SIM card what about smart tvs they dont need internet connection for initial setup for some tvs and ps5 you can setup without an internet connection on initial setup and add an offline profile. But on Xbox forces you to do connect and add a proper online profile.
