xbox wont communicate with tv for voice

When I set up my tv, the kinect tried to send a signal (volume change) to the tv. nothing happened. it tried 3 more times than basically told me sorry. I looked up the TV (lg) model and inputted that. still nothing. the cable box works, i can voice command
fast forward,pause Etc, but i cant change tv volume or turn it on when i say "xbox on". any remedies?

Do you have the dvr plugged in to the xbox? If so just say Xbox go to tv. You wont be able to control it with voice commands once it is on

 

Watch TV Without a Cable Box to Connect To?

Considering the system requires an HDMI connection in order to use the cable option, I can't see why it wouldn't work. However, because you do not have a cable box I think you would have reduced functionality on the console for watching TV. For instance
you would not have a guide nor would you be able to turn channels with your voice (I think). The TV feature uses voice to communicate with the cable box to turn channels, etc.

 

This is pure TV IR code-set. If you set it up via 'detect it' option try 'enter it' option, or vice versa. If that does not work please post the model number of the LG TV. -Cheers

I put it in after the "detect option" wouldn't work. It didn't work.
