Xbox won't change channels

My xbox one is connected to my vizio tv with my motorola dcx3501-m cable box. I have charter communications as my carrier. I am still able to control my tv with my normal remote when I am in the tv app, but i can't use oneguide to change channels. All my
other commands work, such as fast forward, pause, play, etc., but I can't change channels without having to use my normal remote. any help is appreciated.

Channel Will Not Change

I'm able to scroll through OneGuide channels, however, when selecting a channel using the 'A' button on the Xbox Controller, it takes me back to the same channel and won't change to the new channel.

 

Can't get Time Warner Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4240HDC working .

Prophet is it just that OneGuide has the wrong channels, or that the channels won't change?

 

Sounds like the Xbox One isn't set to use quite the right IR codeset for your model cable box. Try setting the One to alternative codesets (if any) for that box and/or enter it as a similar model cable box. Many Motorola boxes use the same IR commands, so
telling the One you have a different model may work.

 

In addition to what GZA stated, when setting up the STB, instead of entering a specific model, just enter Motorola and then use the "automatic" search. This will allow the console to scan several different remote codes for that box, and verify with you
after each code as to whether or not it worked.

I have been trying different models, and none I have found so far work. And I have also tried the automatic search, which also has not worked

 

So I was just trying to find some more solutions on google, and one forum I came across said that it's a hardware error in the xbox itself. I bought my xbox through Costco, so I am able to exchange mine for a new one at any point. Tomorrow, I will go and
get a new one to see if that's the problem. I'll let you guys know if it is
