    Xbox won't allowed my Mastercard to be a payment option


    So I'm trying to buy Destiny for my Xbox 360 through online, and I put in my credit card info and it says "We can't authorize the payment method", and contact your financial institution. I decided to get something on Steam with the SAME credit card, and
    it works fine! Please message back as soon as possible, how do I solve this issue?

    Wont let me use any credit card to purchase points.

    I tried my Discover card, which i normally use, which used to work. then i tried to use my mastercard but it wouldnt even accept that, it said that something was incorrect and it couldnt be authorized to even be chosen/saved as a payment option. then after
    that i tried my visa card. that one was allowed to be saved as a payment option however it said that it was not authorized. this has been going on for several days and i am extremely annoyed. i want a solution. it isnt the creditcard companies blocking anything
    because i used one of them to pay for my cell phone yesterday. This is obnoxious.

    If you debit card has a Visa/Mastercard logo on it, you should be able to enter it as a credit card as a payment option on your account.

    Im in BC, Canada, using mastercard and have tried on xbox console, xbox.com and on billing.microsoft. On billing.microsoft there is no "Add new payment method option.

    I have the exact same problem. Been trying a couple of weeks on two different consoles as well as online on Xbox.com. Getting the same error as above on the online attempt and the message: "Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different
    payment option or add a new one", on the console. The cards where Visa and Mastercard.

    My PayPal account won't be accepted either. (the error message I got then didn't compute with actual error)

    I've tried re-downloading the latest xbox update, deleted the registered credit card and re-entering the information.

    You do know that non vendor specific payment options aren't a good thing right ?

    Anytime you get I to prepaid options that arent vendors specific they. Charge you fees

    Cards liike xbox or psn visa mastercard etc don't
