    Xbox Won't Accept My Debit Card


    I have always used my debit card for my Xbox Live Gold subscription and buying various games, however a few weeks ago I got a notification that my card details needed to be updated. After reviewing my card information, I saw that nothing was outdated. When I tried to confirm the card, I got the "Check the info you entered. It doesn't match the info for this card." message. So, I then removed the card and attempted to add it back, but I got the message again. I went down to my local bank to see if the problem resided on their end, however they informed me that the card was active, functional, and that the problem might be on Microsoft's end. I tried calling the Xbox Support line, but I was told the "solution" to my problem would be to use a different card. For the past few weeks, I have been googling any solutions to this problem, but have not found anything. All of the information I typed in when I try to add the card is 100% correct, I don't have any outstanding bills, and my bank confirmed that this card is fully functional.

    My question is, Why won't Microsoft accept my functional debit card as a form of payment?

    That is an unacceptable solution. You are basically saying we should go to a store to purchase something that should be easily Available for purchase on line.

    This may be a technical issue. Since Microsoft cannot manually review your card - this is an automated system - technical issues can occur. If after reviewing your billing address (https://account.microsoft.com/billing/addresses) all information matches, I would suggest you to purchase cards for Xbox Live Gold from official resellers.

    The only accepted payment methods are PayPal, credit/debit card and in Germany direct debit, also the prepaid cards for Xbox Live and Xbox gift cards.
