Xbox without wifi

i won’t have wifi for the next couple of months and now i want to play new games, i want to buy a disc of assassins creed syndicate but i’m not sure if i need to download/install anything, and if so if i could play it without downloading. I know i had
to with red dead redemption but that is a huge game.

It has been my experience that most games need a large update on day one. Not sure you will need those updates to play offline but definitely something to consider.

No, i will. But does this mean that it depends on the game and not the xbox?

You can put the disk into the Xbox and it will install the game. You will be playing the version of the game that came on the disc. So if there are any patches that fix game bugs, you wouldn't have access to that.

Some games require you to be online at all times. Be sure to check the Game case to see if it requires online/Xbox Live Gold to play. Even games that you think should be considered "Single Player" might have an online component that you can't ignore so
it requires to be online.

I believe that if the installation was already done with the console offline, you can play without problems, unless the game needs a correction patch right away.
