XBOX wireless receiver for Win10 doesn't have a driver - doesn't function as results

One thing to try is to rollback the drivers for your wireless receiver. If that still doesn't fix it, try completely removing the drivers and receiver, then plugging it back in and letting Windows automatically find the driver. I know when I plugged my receiver
into my Windows 7 x64 laptop for the first time, it found the drivers by itself and has been working fine ever since.

I have the same problem as NLC PoKeR, and I'm already using Windows 8.1. Mister Fizzle's suggestions didn't work for me.

For the first and third suggestions, the "list of drivers" only shows one option, "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit". "Installing" it doesn't make any difference.

The second suggestion doesn't apply, since I don't have a wireless receiver.

Is it possible that support for the Play & Charge Kit is outright broken in Windows 8, and that I need to buy a wireless receiver or a wired controller instead?

I have tried charging via PC . I recently purchased a 360 wireless controller for PC and have installed the drivers, but received the same result with charging.
