  1. Xbox Wireless Network Issues.

I ran a test and it said you're good to go, but no Wireless networks were displayed, and there was no internet access. After trying to reboot the xbox several times there was still nothing for me to connect to. I chose to reset the xbox while keeping the
games and apps. This didn't work, and so I reluctantly factory reset. When I'm attempting to set up the network it says that the Xbox is already connected, taking me to the location screen, and then onto the update screen. Due to no actual internet connection
there is an error, which allows you to check the network connection, where there are still no Wireless networks. This therefore means that I'm stuck in this cycle where I cannot update my Xbox as it's connected to a network that doesn't exist, and therefore
    cannot download the update.

    Can anyone help?

EDIT: FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES MY XBOX WAS SHOWING THE INTERNET AND WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, THEN IT JUST WENT OFF. THE SAME THING HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY.

    :)

That sounds like a possible network issue. Is there something that you can find that relates to all the instances that happen. Are you streaming media? Are you just gaming? Is there an expiration time on the IP Address that your router gives the Xbox within that time period? Are you plugged directly into your router or is it wireless? If its wireless the adapter might be having issues as well.

How to Configure and test your Xbox 360 wireless Internet connection

After you have connected the Xbox 360 Wireless Connecting Adapter to your original Xbox 360 console, you have to configure and test the wireless connection.

    Steps to Follow

    1. On your controller, press the Guide button and proceed to Settings, then choose System Settings.

    2. Go to Network Settings then select the name of your wireless network.

Note: If you do not find your wireless network, go to Advanced Options and then select Specify Unlisted Network. Proceed to enter the name of your wireless network, after which you will be asked to select the security type.

    3. Enter your wireless network password.

    4. You will get a prompt to update your console software. Select Yes.

    Still Not Connecting?

If you get a connection error message after these steps, you should try using the Xbox LIVE Connection Solution to fix the problem.

If your wireless network is not listed in Step 2 above, you can read about how to Improve Xbox Live Speed.

    Xbox Wireless Network Issues.

So your console sees no Wi-Fi networks at all (none broadcasting, including yours or any nearby), correct?

Are you possibly able to temporarily wire it to your router long enough to get the update? Or, have you tried the

    offline update tool
    ?

    Hiya!

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're stuck on the initial set up process because you're unable to connect to the wireless network. What I recommend doing is connecting to a network service thru an ethernet cable. If you're
unable to do that you can perform an offline system update. I hope this information helps resolve the issue. Please let us know how it goes.

    Happy Gaming!

  7. Yeah I cant see any, but it says I've connected to a network that isn't even there.

I can't connect with a wired connection atm but will try the offline update.

Edit: Offline update just keeps on giving me a system error.

It's probably your router, mine go down periodically, which drives me crazy. If you reboot your router, it should do the trick as well.
