  1. Xbox Wireless Headset (Global Problem)

Xbox Wireless Headset - When I try to turn it on, a white diode lights up and a power-up sound comes on. The white diode doesn't flash, it just lights up for a couple of seconds - and then the headset turns off. When you click it on, same result, no device searches.

    Xbox Series S.

I have a Mi Router in my house, with 2.4 and 5gz networks.

    Sometimes the following helped:

    - Console off on cold. I plugged the USB wire and headset into the console, after a while turned the console on and when the screen loaded, after a couple minutes, unplugged the USB and paired the headset - it connected. It didn't always work.

    - Went outside the house, away from the Xbox and Wifi - the connection turned on and I had to go and pair with the console again.

Now these methods do not work.

Hard reset several times per instructions (console, PC, outlet) - white lights blinked, headset turned off, but still a problem.

Unplugged the console, turned off Wifi, let it stand like that for a while - still doesn't solve the problem.

Turned off the 5GHz frequency, only left 2.4 - the problem remained.

How the hell do I fix this problem? I can't contact support in my country and change the headset, I paid $100 for it and can't use it. There is no way to use them now, it's just a "brick".

It used to work perfectly - connected with no problems, turned on the console itself, communicated with the phone and was very comfortable and a very high quality device.

After some kind of update to the headset through the "Accessories" app - everything went to hell.

It's not just the Xbox Wireless Headset that has this problem, but other headphones as well, Reddit is replete with reports like this. But for some people it works fine, and for others, like me, it's a dead end.

2023 - and still no solution for this issue.

    :)

I have this exact same issue. can't update firmware because the headset turns off a few seconds after I press the power button.

The problem is still relevant and acute. I can't use the headphones in any way now - they show a white diode for a couple of seconds when turned on and then turn off.

The way I went outside the house and tried to invoke pairing mode - does not work.

Doesn't anyone care about this problem and Microsoft just turns a blind eye? It's not even clear if it's a WiFi, Xbox, or headset problem.

    Xbox Wireless Headset (Global Problem)

Yesterday, my headset turned on randomly, as I described above - I had to get far away from my Xbox and Wi-Fi signal to get the linking process to work. Before that, though, it just didn't work - the white diode would light up, stay on for a couple of seconds, and then turn off.

Now I'm trying to turn it back on - again the white diode lights up, doesn't blink, a couple of seconds of light - and the headset turns off.

Now my headset has the update 0.0.9.50 - after this update, I started having problems with the device.

    Hi there!

Sorry to hear about what happened. This is clearly not the situation I want you to be in. I know how frustrating that must be. Let's do our best to get this sorted out.

First, let's try to check for new update of your headset. If no new update, we can somehow reinstall the recent firmware.

Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
Note: The Xbox Wireless Headset needs to be powered on and connected to your console or device in order to update its settings in the Accessories app. Depending on how many accessories are connected to your console or device at the time, you may need to scroll left or right to bring up the headset configuration screen.

You can see if your headset's firmware is up to date by clicking the (…) button on the headset settings screen. If a new update is available, select Update now to update your headset. (Even if no new update is available, you can still select Update now to re-install the most recent firmware.) This can take a few minutes – leave your headset turned on, motionless, and close to your console until the update is complete.

***If the above solution is not possible even if connected via USB cable, please try to update your headset instead using a Windows 10/11 machine through the Xbox Accessories app (must connected via USB cable).
