XBOX wireless headset connection unstable with xbox wireless adapter on windows 10 PC

Just received the headset today, on launch day, super excited. Works flawlessly on my xbox one X, no complaints here.

However, being a versatile device, I do expect it to work on my gaming PC via xbox wireless adapter as well.

    The good experience stopped there.

The headset will not connect at all when the adapter is directly plugged into the PC.

When using an extension cable, the headset will connect, but only when the headset is within half a meter of the adapter.

And when connected, the connection will instantly drop off when I turn my head by 90 degrees. It feels like falling back to the age of IR blaster headphones.

When connected, everything works, but it's so easy to lose connection, that basically renders the headset on PC unusable.

The headset is updated to the latest firmware 0.0.9.0 on launch day.

    :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the headset. According to the Turtle Beach page https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/stealth-600-headset-xbox-one?variant=7763423592492 the
headset can be used with compatible Windows 10 PC's and may need an Xbox wireless adapter for Windows.

    XBOX WIRELESS

Xbox Wireless provides you with a best-in-class wireless gaming audio experience on Xbox One (and compatible Windows 10** PCs) by letting you connect your headset directly to your Xbox One without an adapter, the same way
your Xbox One wireless controller connects to the console. Xbox Wireless automatically configures the headset’s connection, so just turn-on the headset and start playing. **May require Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows (not included).

The New Xbox Wireless Headset! Huge drawback?

    Hello,

Specifications and system requirements for the Xbox Wireless Headset, along with what‘s included can be found here:

    https://www.xbox.com/accessories/headsets/xbox-wireless-headset

Windows 10 use requires Bluetooth 4.2+, Xbox Wireless adapter or compatible USB-C cable. Each sold separately, explaining why both the adapter and cable weren't included with the headset.

Can the X Box One Wireless Controller with Bluetooth also be used with the X Box One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10?

    Hi Beau,

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums, I'd be happy to answer that.

The Xbox One Wireless controller with Bluetooth can be connected to a Windows 10 PC with a USB cable, Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, so yes, it can be connected via the adapter. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is not
compatible with an Xbox 360 controller and will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. I'll provide the support articles with this information:

    I hope this helps!

Xbox wireless controller doesn't vibrate in bluetooth mode

    Hi annix,

The OP posted this thread under the "Gaming on Windows PC/PC Gaming" category of the Xbox forums. Also contrary to popular belief, the Xbox One console does not support Bluetooth wireless technology. The controllers connect to the console using a proprietary
wireless technology unique to the console and the
Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10
. Bluetooth connectivity is reserved for Windows 10 only and available on current production of Xbox One wireless controllers.

I hope that clears things up.

[PC] Xbox Wireless Headset + Dolby Atmos = Audio Stuttering

The problem is not with any XBOX console, but when you use the headset with Windows 10. Only on PC you have such problems.

Yes, it's connected with xbox wireless adapter.

I have XBOX SERIES X and there is not problem there.
