Xbox Wireless Headset Chat Mixer Moving On It’s Own.

So this is an interesting bug. As of randomly tonight, the wireless headset chat mixer started moving on its own.

With the Xbox wireless headset when I rotate the left cusp I have no control over the chat mixer whatsoever. The chat mixer appears to also move on its own accord as it keeps dialling towards the party chat as opposed to the game audio despite the fact I’m not touching the headset.

Initially I thought the headset was broken however I looked over to Reddit and Twitter. Apparently this is an issue multiple people have suddenly experienced tonight. Really bizarre issue and it appears to be some sort of hardware bug.

Im hoping someone at Microsoft or Xbox fixes this as I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas to fix? please let me know!

I am not no. I shall report this. Would the insider build cause problems?

Hi, I ask the thing with the insider build because using beta software can cause these problems.

By the way, the previous link to report the problem can be used if you're using an stable build

And just to confirm, are you not using an insider build in your console. Right?

Hello! Yes I’ve tried this and literally everything. Updated the controller. Updated the headset. Did a hard reset multiple times still won’t work and still has a mind of its own.

What a really strange bug! Started happening totally out of the blue when I was playing and it seems like it’s happening for a few others too haha

Can you double check if maybe the headset needs to be updated?
If everything is up to date, this can be a bit odd. But please try power cycling the console and sync the headset again with it

In case you need to know how to power cycle your console:
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
