Xbox Wireless Controller that came with the Xbox Series S will not register for replacement

Two months ago, I purchased an Xbox Series S console which came with an Xbox Wireless Controller. One of the joysticks is already "drifting." I worked through the troubleshooting but none of the troubleshooting suggestions worked. Therefore, it appears the unit needs to be replaced. However, after registering the console and controller, the replacement page does not recognize the device and I get the following message:

It appears that the controller registration is not reflected when on the device replacement page (i.e. the SN# is not seen as registered). What further steps need to be taken to remedy this situation since the console and controller are well within warranty?

Unfortunately, when I click on the "Contact us" and try to get in touch with live support, the interview questions indicate support is not available for my issue:

So, it looks like I cannot register the controller (for some unknown reason) and I cannot get support to resolve the issue (for some unknown reason). So I any potential warranty issue cannot be resolved. Very frustrating.

In this case, it would be best to get in touch with the live support to have them arranged a replacement order for your controller: Contact us | Xbox Support

Xbox wireless controllers, including the latest Xbox Wireless Controllers included with the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, are compatible with the Xbox Series S. In addition, some older Xbox One wireless controllers work with the Xbox Series S. As for third-party wireless controllers, the compatibility depends on the specific controller and whether it is designed to work with the Xbox wireless protocol. The Ant eSports controller you mentioned appears to be a third-party controller designed for PC gaming, and it may not be compatible with the Xbox Series S.

Xbox series s, wired, or my brand new un used wireless controller that came with the console, it doesn’t matter, and a wired steel series headset. I have not changed the setup in a couple years
