    Xbox Wireless Controller not working through Bluetooth


    I bought an Xbox Wireless Controller this afternoon and I can't seem to use it with the Bluetooth connection. My laptop is paired and even shows the controller as a connected and supposedly active device on the Bluetooth page of the computer's settings (the
    Xbox logo is lit up too), but as soon as I open a game, the controller doesn't work. Steam only recognizes it as an Xbox controller when it's connected with the USB cable. My drivers are up to date, I tried using the Xbox Accessories app but even that app
    doesn't recognize the controller when it's not connected via USB.

    I saw that there was an adapter for wireless controllers (I don't have one myself), but I hope that's not the thing preventing me from using the controller via Bluetooth? I bought a wireless controller, I expect it to at least work wirelessly on its own
    without having to pay another 25 bucks for an adapter.

    for a headset to work through the xbox controller on pc it (the controller) has to be wired or using the xbox wireless adapter, audio passthrough is not supported via bluetooth.

    The Bluetooth controllers don't come with an adaptor, is has Bluetooth built in. The device it connects to need to have Bluetooth to work, if your PC doesn't then you need to get a Bluetooth adapter for the PC.

    The wireless part of the controller works on a unique frequency only for the xbox controllers, so it won't work with WiFi, so for your PC to use the Xbox Wireless part, you would need the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

    Is there a way to get audio through the controller without using Bluetooth for the series X controller on a Samsung TV?

    I believe that Xbox controllers only transmit and receive audio through the Xbox wireless signal and not via Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth to connect the controller, you need to use a different method for audio. Wired controllers and controllers connected with the Microsoft wireless dongle can use the headphone jack for audio.

    yes as the controller works on bluetooth but there is no audio passthrough via bluetooth, either plug the controller in with a cable and hardwire the headset into that or use xbox wireless adapter.

    If you aren’t using the official Xbox wireless adapter, only basic controls are supported through Bluetooth
