    Xbox Wireless Controller – Firmware Issue Report (new issue)


    Xbox Series X Wireless Controller (serial 09706041287172) on Windows 11, firmware v5.23.6.0, began sending full extreme input and reversing stick directions after recalibration in the Xbox Accessories app. The sticks output –1.00000 constantly, inverting movements. Recalibration temporarily fixes it for about 10 minutes, but the issue returns on USB and Bluetooth across cables, ports, and PCs. Troubleshooting (Steam Input, reWASD dead-zones, driver reinstalls, cleaning) failed. Because it’s new and recalibration triggers the bug, it appears to be a firmware/software error, not hardware drift.

    Have you tried updating your controller to the latest firmware? It is possible that there may have been a bug in the previous firmware that has been causing this issue.     it's not a problem of the controller, it can be paired with the PC with no issue, unfortunately with the latest firmware is no more recognized as an Xbox controller when connectd using bluetooth

    In the joypad configuration panel when is wired connect it is reported as a "Controller (Xbox One For Windows)", when connected using bluetooth is reported as a generic "6-axis 16-buttons game pad with hat switch"

    With previous firmware version it was reported as "Controller (Xbox One For Windows)" for both (even when connected with bluetooth)

    It's a firmware bug
