Xbox wireless adapter model 1790 issue

hi there. not sure if i am in the right place to post this (let me know) i bought a series x/s controller that came with a wireless adapter for windows (boxed together from argos) everything has been fine until the other day. i synced my controller as per usual and it connected. i went to sync my mates controller and it would not sync. i then noticed my controller was not synced anymore. i tried to resync them with no luck. i have uninstalled drivers. set power options to highest and done the same in the device manager screen under properties tab for the adapter (am unable to do this for the controller as i cant connect it and the controller did not come with a cable) both are genuine products boxed together. i also want to not that this is the 5th adapter of model 1790 that i have had this issue with and its clearly a badly made product however all of the others became unresponsive at all with no lights etc on the adapter. this one however shows up in device manager. windows makes the sound for device plugged in and its there under device manager and the light on it works when i press the sync button. any help with this would be great. thank you.

*edit* i have also attempted to update the controller firmware (although i know that is not the issue)
and have connected successfuly to an xbox one and a series s.

only one of the atricles there was close to my issue and i had already done this before. i am going to just get it replaced using the warranty as its clearly defective like the other 4 i have had and that everyone seems to be having. thanks for replying though.

The wake by controller in Windows 10 feature never worked with the 2018 version of adapter (model 1713), only with the 2015 version (model 1790).

Would you mind checking if same issue happen to other headset connected to your PC?

Any other headphones work fine, the problem is only with devices connected via Xbox Wireless Adapter 1790.

May we know if you have tried other computer and does it play the same?

Yes, the same issue appears on another PC when using the same Adapter + Headset.

Have you tried downgrading to see if there is any change?

Can you please share any troubleshooting you have done so far?

Reinstalling DTS Sound Unbound App

Reinstalling USB and chipset drivers

Updating Headset firmware multiple times

Testing with another PC

Trying with Xbox Series X

Bottom line, the issue seems to be the Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows, as Xbox Series console works flawlessly with these headphones.

Would it make sense to buy a new Wireless Adapter for Windows?

Are there any differences in the radio protocol of Xbox One and Xbox Series?

What is the exact model number of the latest Wireless Adapter for Windows? Mine is labeled "1790".

Downgrade updates for the sound drivers? If this cannot be done or unavailable you may skip this part. You may try to recheck the steps here Set up the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and perform the troubleshooting suggested here: Troubleshoot the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

Lastly, kindly create new local user account on Windows 11 and see if same issue persists.

Based on adapter's compatibility chart there are two types of Xbox Wireless Adapter (for Windows and for Windows 10) and the only available adapter in the market is Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. Model is still 1790 for the adapter.
