Xbox wireless adapter is connected to the controller but my PC can't detect the controller

The adapter and controller are connected to each other, i can tell this because the lights are solid and if i turn on the controller it will turn on the adapter. However, In my device manager, and devices and printers the controller doesn't appear and i
cant find it when i use the search device option. Its not working in games too. Also in devices and printers if i right click Xbox ACC and click game controller settings i cant select and controller.

In Xbox ACC properties XINPUT compatible HID devise says its not workings but i checked and the driver is up to date.

It is 10am 27th of October - where is the promised driver and the promised Xbox Accessories App?

HELP! my controller seems to be able to connect to my computer via usb cable and the wireless adapter but the Xbox accessories app is unable to detect a controller. When I first connected the controller via wireless adapter, it was able to detect it and
there were some driver updates, but it disconnected halfway through and after many retries, I have yet to be able to make Xbox Accessories detect controller.

 

Xbox One Stereo adapter with Windows 10?

So I'm trying to set up sound playing through my wireless xbox one controller. Its connected to my PC using the wireless receiver. How do I get sound to play from my PC to my controller through the stereo adapter? I googled it and the supporting documents
seem very basic.

If this makes more sense.

Windows 10/PC Sounds -> Wireless Adapater -> Wireless Xbox One Controller -> Stereo adapter -> Headphones.

 

I have tried reinstalling, restarting my computer, pulling it out and plugging it back in again, a different controller btw
