Xbox wireless adapter for Windows - only one Xbox One Wireless Controller works

    Hi,

    I have such configuration

    • Windows 10 Version 10.0.10586
    • Xbox Wireless adapter for Windows
    • 2 x Xbox One Wireless Controller (both with latest firmware - just updated by Xbox Accesories application)
Both controllers are visible in system, but only one can work.

It is always controller connected as first, nevermind which one is it.

Both controllers shows status OK, but when I try to configure socond one, following error message appears:

"Game controller isn't connected properly. Ensure it is physically connected to computer."

When I turn off controller #1, controller #2 starts working perfectly, so it's not an hardware issue.

In games both are recognized, but of course only one works.

i have spent more than 10 hours reading several posts,

    then I have contacted

    • Microsoft HW suport chat
    • Xbox suport chat
    • Microsoft voice suport
    All without any success.

Is there anybody, who has working configuration with two wireless Xbox One controllers on PC?

    How to fix it?

    :)

Xbox wireless adapter for Windows - only one Xbox One Wireless Controller works [IMG]

In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve started to ship to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.

With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you’ll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC laptop or tablet and bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you’re used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows accommodates up to eight controllers per unit, and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets.

If you haven’t had a chance to try game streaming just yet, check out these step-by-step instructions. And be sure to try some of this year’s blockbuster games with built-in controller support including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, andFable Legends.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 USD (MSRP) or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 USD (MSRP).

Xbox wireless adapter for Windows - only one Xbox One Wireless Controller works

    I tried different configurations:

    • Two controllers wired - only one works
    • Two controllers wireless - only one works
    • One wired and one wireless - the same
    Both are Model 1697.

    Nothing helps.

    Hi,

I believe 3 topics listed in the table below have the same root cause.

Lets work together to encourage technical support to treat this issue seriously.

Did you try to contact voice or chat support?

I suppose nobody cares about single occurence, but if there will be more incident reports, somebody will finally handle this.

Today I have updated: BIOS and all system drivers for my Mobo (USB, LAN, SOUND, SATA, CHIPSET...).

Still - one controller works, second doesn't.

I have suspicion it is some HID devices' conflict.

My PC has only: keyboard, mouse and Xbox controllers on wireless adapter.

I suppose my Xbox HW is OK, because finally i found some PC, where it works. It is HP Pavilion ultrabook, which has a lot of HID devices like touchscreen, pen, external speaker paired via bluetooth.

On this HP both controllers work perfect, on my PC still only one.

As in another topic on forum, my PC has some strange HID devices, I can't recognize.

I tried to uninstall them, but they appear again after system restart.

They are marked with ??? on PC vs Ultrabook comparison screeenshot:

    http://s15.postimg.org/cz3eh3fqz/HID_devices_WIndows_10.png

How to deal with this issue?

Can anybody with two (or more) working controllers share his/her device manager view?

I am also having this issue. Built my computer yesterday, fresh install of Windows 10. The adapter worked with multiple controllers yesterday. I boot it up today and it will only accept commands from the first controller, no matter which it is. I have 5
controllers that I have tried this with, they all have the same problem. Different USB ports did not help, neither did reinstalling the driver.

Interestingly enough, I have a similar setup to you. I currently have an ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero and an i5-6600K.

Same exact problem. Cannot find an answer anywhere. And also Microsoft haven't been able to answer me about it let alone find a solution.

Both of my controllers work perfectly separately, both wireless and wired but the second one just will not work.

I too have an ASUS motherboard. Could maybe be a problem there?

BTW just a rant, but Microsoft support finally contacted me and said I needed to pay some *** 150$ yearly service subscription for their support for *** like this. Just for them to do a remote desktop and see this *** for themselves. *** outta here.

    Bumping this thread.

Really getting annoyed now that there's no solution to this. Spent all this money on two controllers and they don't work, even though it's advertised as "for Windows".

Absolutely no help whatsoever with these forums and their tech support, just suggesting the same old stuff that anyone with basic PC knowledge would try before even thinking about asking tech support, then just ignore you when they run out of options.

Basically just a rant in the hopes that someone might pass of the message. I won't hold my breathe though

I have a similar problem, when I connect my controllers trough the wireless adapter they are not working correctly because I have a Z axis and Z Rotation. WHen I used my controller wired with a USB cable I had this problem and I could fix roll back the drivers
and the controller went back to the original X, Y, Z Axis, but now, with the Wireless adapter, I can't do that, because I doesn't let me update, because there's no Xbox Periphals to change the driver.
