Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows Network Driver is not starting

I am using a 2021 PowerSpec G930 desktop running the latest version of Windows 11. As of today, my Xbox Elite controller is no longer able to connect to my PC via Bluetooth. I am connecting directly through Bluetooth, as I have always done, and not using the separate USB dongle.

To address the issue, I performed the following steps:

    1. Plugged the Controller in and updated the firmware of the controller to the latest version via the Xbox Accessories app.
    2. Uninstalled the Xbox Wireless Adapter Network driver
    3. Removed the xbox controller from the list of Bluetooth devices
    4. Rebooted the PC, allowing windows to automatically reinstall the network adapter driver for the controller

Despite these steps, the network adapter immediately displays a warning with the following error message:

“This device cannot start. (Code 10)”

Additionally, the operation fails with the error:

“{Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful.”

My system indicates there are no available updates for Windows, and it is fully up-to-date. Furthermore, the issue persists across all Xbox controllers I have tested, as none can establish a proper Bluetooth connection due to this adapter error. While attempting to pair the controller, it briefly connects but immediately disconnects, resulting in an endless cycle of connection attempts.

Looking for any insights or help to go from here outside of completely reloading windows just to use the controllers.

    :)

How to connect old Xbox One controller with Windows Adapter

    Hi Common!

Make sure that you follow the steps correctly here on this link https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/...

If it's still doesn't connect, let's try to reinstall your wireless adapter's driver. Make sure to try different USB ports on your PC.

    Go to Device Manager.
Locate Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.
Select Xbox Wireless Adaptor for Windows to bring up the Properties window.
    Select the Driver tab.
On the Driver tab, select Uninstall or Uninstall Device (depending on your version of Windows).
On the confirmation window, check the Delete the driver software for this device box.
Unplug the Xbox Wireless Adaptor for Windows and reboot your Windows device. Once the device is back on, plug in the adaptor.

It is 10am 27th of October - where is the promised driver and the promised Xbox Accessories App?

    "You must update the drivers:

Click "Network Adapter" to expand the menu and right-click "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software"

This fixed the audio issue I was having with the controller connected via the Wireless Adapter (it worked via USB but not wirelessly until I manually updated said network adapter driver). Thanks!

    Xbox bluetooth adapter and PC

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the community. How are you, mate?

See if these steps help you, mate.

Try reinstalling the drivers in case they have partially installed. To do so, you need to uninstall the drivers. Follow these steps to complete this process:

    Go to your Device Manager.

Locate Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.

Click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.

    Click on the Driver tab.

On the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.

On the confirmation window, check Delete the driver software for this device.

Unplug the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and reboot your Windows 10 device. Once the device is back on, plug in the adapter.

If the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows still does not install, follow all of the above steps thoroughly one more time.

Can't find any drivers on my PC for Xbox One Wireless Adapter

    Hi XBF Brad A,

Thanks for the link, but I'm slightly confused. In the troubleshoot guild, I'm advised to look for the "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" in the "Network adapters" section of Device Manager.

However when I do this I can't find nothing titled "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows".

Should this be in "Network adapters" and is the reason why my Xbox Wireless Adapter working. If so how do I re-install this driver/
