Discus and support Xbox Wireless adapter for windows doesn't work without fresh Restart. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So after fresh restart my controller will connect fine, after i turn controller off it will connect again but disconnect instantly until i restart PC....     Xbox Wireless adapter for windows doesn't work without fresh Restart.


    So after fresh restart my controller will connect fine, after i turn controller off it will connect again but disconnect instantly until i restart PC. So basically any time i want this to work i need to restart my PC.

    By "latest version of the adapter", you mean
    this adapter    , then this will not work with Xbox 360 controllers. This one is only designed for Xbox One controllers.

    Microsoft doesn't seem to sell the 360 wireless receiver anymore, but you can
    get it here from Amazon    .

    For the 360 wireless receiver, yes, that is all you need to hook up your 360 controller to the PC. Press the sync button on both the adapter and controller, it should connect without a problem and be instantly recognized by your Windows 7 system.

    Wireless adapter doesn't work

    Hi everyone,

    I've bought the wireless adapter for PC Windows 10 to play with my Xbox One Wireless Controller. When I connect the adapter it doesn't work, even the light. My PC "said" that there aren't the right driver and software installed but, when I try to connect
    the adapter to another PC, it installed the Adapter but it doesn't work. What Should I do? Thanks

    Manage to find a forum where someone found that if Steam is running it causes this issue.

    Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

    1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.
