Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 keeps installing a faulty driver

First of all, we are talking about the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. Not the controller itself. However, the driver version that installs is very well-known for being faulty.

As soon as I plug the adapter into my PC, it installs driver 1.0.46.1 which causes the device to not function due to a driver error.

So I need to update it with the one released most recently. However, it tells me that this 1.0.46.1 driver is newer than the 20.xx driver, which is completely false. It's 3 years out of date, and it also is faulty.

Please read people's posts before answering. Even just the title would have helped you, since I explain it's a faulty driver in the title itself...

All you need tondo is plug a controller in the PC and it will install the right driver I dont know what is the problem here?

The adapter didn't auto-install

Because the drivers for the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows are embedded within the Windows 10 operating system, the adapter should auto-install. If it doesn't, try the following solutions:

• Make sure your Windows 10 device is connected to the Internet.
• Make sure your Windows 10 device is up to date by going to Windows Update on your device and checking for available updates.
  
• Reboot your device and try again.
• Ensure your USB ports are not disabled in your Device Manager.
• Try another USB 2.0 or 3.0 port.
• Try reinstalling the drivers in case they have partially installed. To do so, you need to uninstall the drivers. Follow these steps to complete this process:
