Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 PC: No rumble or headset audio support?

I saw forum mods resolving the driver installation problem, so I'm not going to complain anymore about what a nightmare it was.

However, even with drivers properly installed, rumble and headset audio still do not function as they should.

Do we have to wait till new drivers to come out alongside the Elite to get proper support? (*** elitists)

I'd like an official response on this. In the mean time I'll have to go back to my 360 controller.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. xobx stereo headset adapter on PC

I have an older xbox one controller with no audio jack. I use it on a windows 10 PC. I purchased the stereo headset adapter however mic audio is not working. The PC sees both a headset and mic and I can hear audio through the headset. Mic audio seems as
if it's muted. I have tried multiple headsets, the controller was updated on my friends Xbox One but still get no audio. Chat rep said there's no mic audio at this time but it's coming soon? Is this true? Anyone else have an adapter and is it working normally?

    Thanks!

Wireless mic game and party sound

Hi there. I am getting a new wireless astro gaming headset and have a question. All of my headsets so far have been wired and i am able to control the game audio and party audio seperately with the xbox mic to controller adapter. I am worried that when
i get my wireless headset i wont be able to control party and game audio seperately. Just wondering if there is a way to do this, or even if there is an adapter that you can use for wireless headsets.

Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 PC: No rumble or headset audio support?

First of all, it was not a mod that resolved the driver issue Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 PC: No rumble or headset audio support? :)

Second, yes I think we'll have to wait for the 27th (next tuesday) for either a new driver or something else. At least on the 27th the Accessories App will be officially launched which could also help us get audio and rumble transmitted wirelessly.

I'm just happy that I'm able to use the controller without a cable AT ALL lol...even though Microsoft did some shady advertising when telling people that audio works out of the box.

Is there actually ANYONE that has the audio working out of the box?

If yes, how do you configure it? Is there supposed to be a new device in the audio menu when plugging in a 3,5mm stereo headset?

  7. Hey everyone,

Audio worked out of the box for me. A USB Audio Device appeared when I plugged the Stereo Headset adaptor into the controller AND plugged headphones into the adaptor.

This is using a standard Xbox One controller (i.e. not an elite) via the wireless adaptor with v20.24.34.491 drivers.

    You must update the drivers:

Hit "Windows key + X" on your keyboard to open the Power Menu, Select "Device Manager"

Click "Network Adapter" to expand the menu and right-click "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software

Make sure that "USB Audio Device" is selected for playback devices under sound settings. To the Left of the Date & Time in the windows task bar (bottom right corner of your screen) you will see a speaker icon, right-click and selected "Playback Devices",
then select Headphones (aka USB Audio Device). Hit ok

Once updated all the system and game audio will come through your compatible stereo headset.

    Well, this is great.

Product launched on the 20th, and proper driver went live on the 27th around 10pm, that was 7 days after the fact.

Not to mention the driver search in device manager is very unreliable.

    Way to go, Microsoft.

Make sure that once you take and verify the updated driver that the audio device being used is the USB Audio device from the wireless controller. As soon as you plug in a headset Windows should choose that by default, but it's better to check in case it
    doesn't.

You can also see the complete tree of devices available via the adapter by first choosing the adapter in device manager and then changing the view in device manager to View->Devices By Connection. The audio device will also show up there.
