Xbox Wireless Adapter and Framerate drops in games

    Hi,

I think this maybe similar to the BSOD issues people seem to have with the wireless adapter, there is certainly issues with the driver and some sort of leak. I start getting stuttering and framerate drops in rocket league after about 20mins of play time.
removing the wireless adapter and reinserting it immediately fixes the issue IN GAME (rocket league)

It seems to point to a leak or buffer problem in the adapter driver though everything is updated to the latest drivers.

Any ideas on this? or are we just waiting for a new driver to be released??

    :)

Are framerate drops normal on Call of Duty?

    Framerate drops are common.

In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve started to ship to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.

With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you’ll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC laptop or tablet and bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you’re used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows accommodates up to eight controllers per unit, and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets.

If you haven’t had a chance to try game streaming just yet, check out these step-by-step instructions. And be sure to try some of this year’s blockbuster games with built-in controller support including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, andFable Legends.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 USD (MSRP) or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 USD (MSRP).

This also happens while using the controller wired pressing any button or moving any joystick makes the whole system stutter ingame and even on the desktop.

Doallyn try getting it to stutter exit the game and see if it also stutter in the desktop (ej. move your pointer to see the stutter)

i don't notice it on the desktop but it could be happening. It takes about 10 mins or so of using the pad in game before it starts to happen. It must be a leak somewhere in the driver set that builds up and then causes the issue.

    Bumping this thread.

This needs sorting and fast! Exact same problem: game runs smooth for around 15-20 minutes, sound will start to go, then frame drops, then microstutter, and once even crashed my display driver.

When this is happening however, use a m/k and no issues whatsoever, jump straight back onto the controller and it breaks again. This isn't the only problem I have with these controllers. And considering they're advertised as "for Windows" they don't do a
    very good job of it.

Although we got no hope of a solution on these forums or their tech support, we can only hope. SORT IT OUT MICROSOFT!!

I never had the problem with my Logitech controller either. Only reason i changed was that I thought a xbox controller would work better with windows... LOL

Has to be an issue with the driver both for the wireless adapter and the USB xbox driver - same issue with both. How long can this take to fix as its pretty easy to repeat???

  12. I called the technical support from Microsoft for the same problem , they tell me and no technical support for this device, so you better buy any joypad and emulate a joystick Xbox 360 and never again prefer the original because microsoft wash your hands
    with this problem.

This is still a problem. Seems rocket league fixed the issue in one of its updates, but using the controller on Lego Star Wars: Force Awakens is as bad as before.

Removing the USB wireless and plugging in fixes it....
