    Xbox Wired PC Controller Suddenly Stopped Working


    Hello all,

    Around 4 months ago I brought an original white and grey wired Xbox 360 Controller for PC. It was working perfectly up until today. Yesterday I was playing games with it and nothing at all was wrong. Today when I plugged it in all 4 LEDs lit up for a second and then turned off. The controller was not working at all. When I press and hold the Xbox button, all 4 LEDs light up, when I let it go it again goes to sleep. Windows detects it when it plugs in, and detects when it is unplugged however no feedback from the controller neither does it show up in Device Manager. Device Mngr resets every time the Xbox button is held for a few seconds then let go of. Also, while holding it the LEDs flash twice. The controller has had no issues in the past. I have tried switching USB ports, using a USB hub, restarting the computer, none of them solved my issue. Any way to fix the issue would be appreciated. Thanks

    I have not validated the version of firmware, but I know it suddenly stops working. To update it, I plug the controller in and update firmware. I do this for both controllers. Then it will work for a couple of weeks and suddenly stop.

    I'm having similar issues with my xbox one controller connected through usb on my windows 10 pc. The controller just stops working mid-game. If I alt-tab out and into the program is starts working again but quickly stop working. When testing the buttons
    using the xbox accessories app - test mode shows no buttons being pressed. Not sure what's going on. Let me know if you found a solution. Thanks.

    Yeah I've thought to get myself an adapter. However sometimes I can play a longer period of time before running to this issue. So I just wonder what could be causing this?
