    Xbox Windows App Won't Download Games (Can't uninstall gaming services through powershell)

    Hello,

    My xbox app wont download any games on PC.

    I have tried to update my windows.

    I have tried to delete gaming services via powershell (steps below). But I get 0x80070002 error.

    vvvvvv DOES NOT WORK vvvvvvv

    Right-click the Windows Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin). In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter: Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers In the same window, type the following commands and press Enter: Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    I have tried restarting the gaming services on the "services" windows program.

    Looking for any other possible solutions. Thank you so much, in advance.

    :)

    Hi,

    I have tried all of those steps. None worked.

    I just did a complete reset of my computer (saved no files at all) to get a fresh OS. I no longer receive an error code but it still wont download any games at all.

    This is happening to me as well. Has your PC started downloading games or launching? I went through all the steps as well, including what you had done with a fresh install of windows. The Gaming services reviews is full of people experiencing the same issue, but apparently Microsoft tries to make it seem like it's an issue with individual PCs. I think the new update messed everything up, personally, so it'll probably take a few days or weeks for them to fix it.

    Hi Georges,

    I already am running windows version 21H2. I also have the xbox companion app installed.

    The only thing I can think of that maybe led to this was cleaning up my windows storage. On the same day that this issue arose, I went to Storage settings and used the option to delete temporary files.

    Thank you for your help and I wonder if you have any other suggestions?

    Hello dear Gamer, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is Vinicius.

    I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

    Hey CharlesHyde2, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    CharlesHyde2, there are a couple of things we could try:

    So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

    Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

    ______________________________________________________________

    Then try this:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    Then do the same for the Xbox app:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    ______________________________________________________________

    Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app. :)

    ______________________________________________________________

    If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command.

    In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

    Then, after you do it, you're going to open the game pass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again

    ______________________________________________________________

    If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

    Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is welcome to the community.

    Hello CharlesHyde2, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11.

    See which version of Windows 10 you have

    Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.
