Please clear Xbox App cache. To do this, open Windows Settings, go to "Apps," find the Xbox app, click "Advanced Options," and select "Reset." This will clear the app's cache and might help bypass the stuck login process.

And then remove old account from Windows by going to Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts. Remove the old Microsoft account from the "Accounts used by other apps" section.

Next is to uninstall the Xbox app completely, restart your PC, and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. This will help reset the app's login process.

Then reinstall gaming services. Open PowerShell as an administrator and run the following commands:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

This will reinstall the Gaming Services app, which will help resolve account-related issues.

After that, please sign in to the current account you are using and see if it works.

Alright, please go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security. Click the "Open Window Security button. After that go to Firewall & Network Protection then click "Allow an app through firewall" From that page, click "Change settings" then click "Allow another app." Add the game there and see if that sorts out the issue when you try to play multiplayer in the game.

Well, there's no merging, per se.



However, you want the old Microsoft Account (formerly known as the Windows Live ID) on the new gamertag, right?



Then, on the OLD account, change the Microsoft account by going to
http://account.live.com where you sign in w/ the OLD Windows Live ID then go to
account.live.com/ChangeID.aspx and change the OLD Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) to an email address you create on the spot at HOTMAIL or LIVE.



30 days later, you can reuse that email address on the NEW account so the NEW account gets changed to the old Windows Live ID. That 30-day 'speed bump' BTW is required by the security folks at Microsoft Accounts and is not the idea of Xbox, FYI.

You can transfer it to a new Microsoft Account, you'd need to make the new account at signup.live.com, then go onto your Xbox and go to Settings -> Account -> Account Security. From there there will be a Change Microsoft Account option, follow the steps
there.

If you have a Windows Phone purchases of Windows Phone apps won't carry over to the new account.

Try the following:

Go to the website for account security and protection.

Change your password, and while you're there, also check that you enable "Two Step Verification" if you have a smartphone (iOS, Android or Windows Phone will work).

After you changed your password, remove your account from your console and re-download it with the new password.

If you use a Xbox 360, instead of the new password, go back to the Account security page above, and scroll down to the "App Password" paragraph.

Have the site create a new app password.

Enter that app password instead of your regular one on the Xbox 360 console.
