    Xbox Windows 10 Party Not Connecting


    Hello, I am completely frustrated right now, not just because of this problem but because Microsoft is not doing their job and they're completely ignoring this topic. I was just trying to join/start an Xbox live party on the Windows 10 app, but an issue
    occurred. It wasn't connecting at all or even trying to connect, but rather showed a message that said, "your network settings are blocking party chat". My windows firewall is active and I even turned it from low to high. It just won't work. It also brings
    up an error code, which is 0x89231806. I would appreciate it if I could get some help on this, thank you.

    Thought I'd post another work around for this issue that I've just come across..

    For this you will need to have a Windows 10 PC or Laptop nearby but with this setup you won't need a chat cable from the controller to the MixAmp which I felt was a good positive.

    Basically I've connected the MixAmp Pro to my Windows 10 PC via the USB power supply, then connected the optical cable to the Xbox One as usual, on the PC launch the Xbox App and then invite friends to Party via the App (invites go to their Xbox) once in the party you can do everything as normal having Dolby Digital sound from your Xbox One to the headset as well as the Xbox Party Chat with no cable to the controller.

    Obviously using this method on the PC you could also use Discord/Skype chat if you prefer but if your friends just use Xbox Party Chat then this is a solution I hadn't previously thought of.

    Hey, all. For folks hitting this issue on the Xbox App on Windows 10, please try the steps listed here:

    Through our investigations we've found a few different issues that tend to pop up on Windows 10 devices with regarding Party Chat:

    1. Teredo adapter not functioning normally.

    2. Windows Firewall being shut down (sometimes by third party security software), blocking Teredo connectivity.

    3. Third party security software blocking Teredo connectivity.

    The steps in the link above walk through some workarounds for the most common scenarios we've encountered.

    I have made some research and found that this issue is related to the 32 bit Χbox App. I have clean installed Windows 10 32 bit on 2 machines and the Xbox Console Companion will fail to connect to parties (especially partys containing PCs and mobile phones
    - I managed to connect to a party chat with 1 other friend playing on Xbox). Installing 64 bit Windows on both, same machines resolves the error and I can connect to parties normally. Returning to 32 bit brings the error back. I have submitted this feedback
    through the app on Windows. You should take a look at this.
