Xbox Windows 10 add child and change security settings

I have been working on this for 6 hours and on the phone for over an hour. It has gotten so confusing and ridiculous. My son and I both have to have a microsoft account which I have made and I have set his settings in Family Safety to age 8. However,
logging into xbox on Windows 10 his settings are teen. To change them one must log into xbox.com. If I log into under his microsoft account they can not be changed because he is the child. If I log in under my microsoft account at xbox.com there are no
children listed and no where to add him. How do I protect him?!!??? This is a nightmare and someone should be held responsible!!!!!!!!!!

Cannot see child in privacy settings on xbox.com

Hi there, just to confirm, you are doing the steps at the following link and can't see the child account on the 'Xbox Settings' page:

Also if you wanted to update your name on your MS account, you can do so following the steps at this link:

Child accounts don't appear in Xbox privacy settings

I have child accounts setup in Family Safety, and this is all working fine in Windows 10. The kids logged in to one of our Windows 10 machines and created their Xbox accounts/gamertags. It appears they are restricted from adding friends. I'm assuming
this is an Xbox security setting. So I used my parent account, went to Family Safety web site, and then the Xbox Privacy Settings. This takes me to an Xbox Privacy and Online Safety page where it looks like I should be able to establish security settings
for all the family members. I only see my account listed there however. How do I add the children to my Xbox family?

Replying as a parent, i have updated all the security setting in windows 10 online and 360 online.

But still , both my child are not able to add each other as friend or join each other in game. But i have successfully added both of them individually as friends in their online xbox account resectively

Geth

First login to Microsoft Family settings and check if you are signed in as the adult.
To change your child’s account setting, do the following.
First, sign in to the Xbox Settings page with your adult account. Verify the ownership if asked to confirm.
Now choose the Gamertag for your child’s account to which you want to add Xbox Live account.
Click on Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab. Or click the Privacy tab

If the issue persists, you can try changing the privacy setting on the child account a little enough so that you can buy Xbox Live on their account. After making the purchase you may change the privacy back to child-appropriate settings.
Although this is not an ideal fix, you can use it as a workaround to till Xbox resolves the issue
