    Xbox not working at all

It's due to an issue on the servers. You'll want to keep an eye on http://xbox.com/status for when it's cleared up.

    Xbox isnt working at all

Hi there! This is Ronnie, an independent advisor.

Nice to meet you and I hope you are having a great day!

I understand you need help with your Xbox console problem.

Let's try a hard reset first and see if this helps.

    - Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

    - Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    - Wait 30 seconds.

    - Plug the power cord back in on another outlet.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (the one to SYNC controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart.

Note: If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.

    - You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    - The console should start and show the Troubleshooting screen

    - Choose "Reset this Xbox" and then "Keep games and apps".

Make sure you do not have any external hard drive plugged in to the console as well.

XBox Originals not working at all...

The casing may well be from a genuine hard drive but the actual drive itself I suspect isn't, even if you format the drive on the console it shouldn't cause any issues with backwards compatabilty. I honestly believe whoever traded the drive in has swapped
out the original hard drive for a third party hard drive. Formatting it now will I suspect resolve nothing.

XBox Originals not working at all...

Yes I have, that is where I began and got the idea to clear system cache and reinstall the update. The only step I have not taken from that post is reformatting my hard drive, which I would rather not do as their is over 50GB of installed and downloaded
data on it that I don't want to have to reinstall but it is looking like that may be my only option.

If it helps clarify further, the more I think about it I believe all of these games (the downloadable ones at least) stopped working when I got this hard drive which I bought used as an upgrade to my old 20GB. The drive itself is an official Microsoft drive,
although is off an Elite system (the drive is black, my box is just a vanilla variant). When I first installed it I don't remember if I formatted it as it was already blank and I assumed it was formatted by the store I purchased it from. Before I bother
with wiping the whole thing can anyone confirm if this may be the solution?
