Xbox Will Not Resume Update If External Hard Drive is Plugged In

    Sup ladies and gents.

So I've been part of the Xbox Preview Program for years now, which means my console constantly updates. I've had as many as 20 updates in a month while they test features, try out new formats, etc. About 6 months ago, the updates would stop in the middle and
instead of restarting my console, the whole thing just shut off. I would have to hard reset to turn it back on, then it would have to start the entire update process again before letting me access my Xbox. I discovered that I wouldn't have this problem if
I just unplugged my 1TB external hard drive. After doing that updates continue as normal, but because I have to do it so frequently it's kind of a hassle to do. Is there any known fix for this? Should I just get a new hard drive and see if that solves the
problem? Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

Kinect stops working randomly. Full Reboot fixes it

I'm having this issue, and have noticed that it only happens when using energy-saving mode AND I start the console with an external hard drive plugged in. If I unplug the external drive first and power on, the kinect operates as it should. Also, if left
in instant-on mode, the kinect operates fine when resuming with the external drive plugged in.

You simply need to plug the external hard drive with the Xbox One games on it into the new console, then you can play games from the external hard drive, or transfer them from the external hard drive to the internal hard drive. You may need to update some
or all of the games, which will require the internet. But you don't need to re-download the whole game.

    Minecraft won’t update

You're welcome and thanks for the update. Do you happen to have an external hard drive plugged into your console? or is the game installed on your external hard drive? A corrupted drive may cause issues as well.

My game says its installed but its also still installing?

I appreciate the update, Ayden. Do you happen to have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause these issues so please if these games are stored on your External hard drive, move them to your Internal storage and then unplug the external hard drive to test it out.

So I have low data at my house but my friends is way faster is there any way I could take my Seagate xbox hhd hard drive to my friends and plug my hard drive into his and update my games like that ?

And I just thought it might work cause if he has a external hard drive to and he moved his game to his hard drive and unplugged his and I plugged mine in and the game from my drive onto his Xbox and he updated it and then move the game to the hard drive I should have the updated game when I go to plug it into my Xbox console
