Xbox Will Not Output HDMI after Console Companion Streaming

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

Unfortunately you cannot plug in the Xbox One into your laptop and use the laptop as a display. Also there is no app or program that would convert the HDMI port on your laptop to an input source rather than an output source.

Your only option would be to use the game streaming through the Xbox Console Companion app. I would re over these two support articles on how to improve streaming:

Keep in mind the laptop hdmi port is most likely output only

Only by buying a capture card will you be able to use it with hdmi

I don't think most laptops have an HDMI in port, you'll need to set up your console first and allow the updates to happen, after that you'll be able to use the companion app to stream the xbox. Maybe borrow someones TV for a bit, or purchase a cheap small
HDMI monitor.

Just an HDMI cable or you can stream your Xbox one on the same network at home from the console to the PC via the companion app.

I'd be glad to help you out. I might just need some additional information. In terms of connection to your PC are attempting to use your xbox through your pc? Are you attempting to stream it or record game play?

If you are attempting to run a HDMI cable to your Xbox you would need a capture card that has an HDMI input. Most PC without a capture card have a HDMI Output.

There is the option of using the Xbox Console Companion App on the Microsoft store. The app allows you to stream your console to your PC as long as you are on the same network.
