    Xbox will not load anything

After I turn on my Xbox, I can sign in like normal. If I try to load anything at all it gives me the same error message. "For some reason [app] took too long to start. (0x8027025a)" I have done everything that the Xbox troubleshoot says can work. I believe
it has something to do with my storage in the system. This is because before my Xbox started doing all of this, my game froze and told me to clear my saved games in the settings menu. I followed its instructions and it bricked my device for about an hour and
a half while I was troubleshooting and talking on the phone with an Xbox representative. Eventually it turned back on and loaded back up. I want it to successfully factory reset my Xbox, but like I said even the settings will not load. I have no idea on what
to do and I do not have the money to send my Xbox in to get it repaired. HELP! My overall question is this, Is there anything that I can do to factory reset my Xbox without the ability to open my settings menu or is there any other way to fix my Xbox?

    :)

    Xbox will not load anything

    Hello Traevam,

Thanks for posting here on the Xbox forums. There is definitely a way to set up a factory reset without getting into the settings screen. Follow these steps to start up your console in the troubleshooting menu :

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the BIND button (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the
EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
Note The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition does not have an
      EJECT
button. You can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the
BIND button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button .
    4. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

I hope this helps! You can also find these steps on this link by following the troubleshooting for

    updating your console offline.

Hi SkellieShooter, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

There is a big chance that the External hard drive is corrupted which may have caused the issue.

Please perform a powercycle then check if your games and apps will now be visible, in the meantime please unplug the External hard drive as well.

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE
