Xbox will not let me switch my gamer profile to new account.

i recently realized my xboxlive is linked to my old hacked yahoo account. I have gmail now.. I followed the instruction for transferring the gamer profile, and it denies me. I dont want to cancel my account.

This is going to sound crazy but I can't figure out how to sign out....

Fortnite won't let me sign in so I am trying to switch to a different Xbox Live profile on my console. However I cannot figure out how to sign out or switch Accounts. So confused, I really don't like this new UI

Change Microsoft Account - Error code 8016fe6d

I made sure not to create a new xbox live profile, since I already have a gamertag. When I clicked on "games" on my laptop, and tried to sign in, it took me to a screen that prompted me to create a new xbox live profile under my new Microsoft account. I
made sure to back out, and that is what prompted this whole process.

I am pretty sure there is not a new gamertag associated with my new account. I don't want there to be; I want to switch my current gamertag to my new Microsoft account.

I am having a similar issue. I deleted my profile because I changed my Microsoft account email address. Now I am trying to download that profile and I am receiving the same error message. It will let me login on my computer and see the gamer profile but will not let me even attempt to put in a password for the new account. Could it take a while for it to allow me to login on the console with a new email? Please help! Thanks

I hate that this is happening to me now. I changed email accounts today and switched my gametag to the new account and I thought it was me who messed up. My 360 took the change well but it's the Xbone that won't load friends, profile, gamerscore or gamer
pic... It's stupid and I hope this gets resolved soon

I had the same problem with my son’s account. Changed every permission in Xbox settings and still no luck.

Then I stumbled on the solution which is as stupid as the original problem….

I created a brand new profile and started 2K23, this profile was allowed to to create a myPlayer account. When I got to the enter email screen I switched Xbox profiles back to my son’s profile. It then lets you complete the myPlayer activation under the new profile.

Ludicrous that this works but ludicrous that the problem occurred in the first place!

What do you want to do? I just want to clarify here. Do you want to change the GamerTag name, or the actual gamer profile?

To switch gamer profiles on your phone, you will need to switch Microsoft Accounts.

The relevant section is titled "I’ve entered the wrong Microsoft Account and now can’t get my Gamertag, Help!" - it gives you instructions on switching accounts.
