    Xbox will not install games when I insert the disc.


    when I insert a disk, my Xbox will not automatically begin to install the game. It does not do the thing where it gets stuck at a certain percentage, my issue is that it just doesn't come up at all. It's not in my queued, ready to download, or anywhere.
    It is as if I have not even inserted the disc. I have already tried going offline, hard restarting the console, and switch to energy save mode. Any other suggestions? Thanks everyone who helps.

    Question about owning a physical disc that is BC

    If a game that is BC is a two disc game will I need to install from both discs or even change discs when playing? Hmm, not sure if that really makes sense.

    If I want to play Mass Effect 2 since it is on two discs how will this work? When I load in disc 1 I assume the game will start to install. What happens when I get to the point that disc 2 would normally need to be inserted? Will it need to install more data? Will I even need to insert disc 2 at some point?

    what i did was to un-install the game turn off xbox, re insert disc, re-install but this time when it tells you there is an update available for the game hit No and dont install the update until after the disc is fully installed.

    the xbox does not recognise the external hard drive and the only games i can play are the only ones that are installed on the xbox and when i start up the xbox none of the games come up and when i insert a disc i just says install disc but it does not work

    If you own the disc of a supported 360 game for backwards compatibility you can insert the disc that will trigger the download for the game, when installed you can play that speed game as long as the disc is inserted

    So i had the same issue as well and if you put the game disc instead of the install disc it will install and work the install disc is no longer working found out the hard way it has a 16gb update to adapt the xbox one but only when u insert the game disc itself not the install disc. Hope this helps
