Xbox will no longer "record that"

The option to hold 'X' to record a clip after pressing the home button twice is no longer available.

I have plenty of space to record clips.

Why might this happen?

G'day Paytoblask! I just want to make sure - when you review the clip, did it record the bit of gameplay you wanted, or does it wait 10 minutes to actually record the 30-second clip?

it takes the big of gameplay i wanted but it take a very long time to process, its not a huge deal, just something to look in to

Have you updated your console to the latest update? There was one that went out just last night. Check out Settings > System to see if you have an update ready for you. Check out Console Info in the System settings to see if
you are currently on the most recent
operating system for Xbox One.

If you are, let's give this a try:

• Remove your profile from your Xbox One.
  
• Hold the power button for 8 seconds (or until it shuts off).
• Power your console on again.
• Download your profile back onto your console.

Please give this a try and let us know how it works! Note that if you have too many game clips recorded, it may not let you record more. Delete some and see if that helps you out. Once you've given these a try, we'll see what our next steps are.

 

Ah my apologies. I didn't know how the system worked.

Removed and re-downloaded.

I have 2 clips saved so far and over 30gb space left so I don't think that's the problem. What's the next step?

 

No worries! This is why we have that posted up, and why we share it. Not all forums work the same.

Do you have any other profiles on the Xbox, and can they see the option? This will help us narrow down if it's a possible account issue, or if it's something else.

You can create a new account for this test, if you need to. If your console is set to your Home console, it will share your Gold with any free accounts, and that free account should have access to record a game clip. Give that a try if you don't have another
account immediately, and get back to us!

 

Just out of curiosity, have you made sure Game DVR is enabled in your settings?

 

Game DVR and streaming were both off... No idea why!!
