Xbox: Why's it there and how do I delete it?

I have a work laptop, W11, and every time it boots I get Xbox software trying to update. I never installed it and Xbox doesn't show on the list of programs via control panel. Where is it hiding and how do I delete it from the system?

Interesting. Out of curiosity, why does it show there and not in Control Panel

rograms and Features? I've been using the latter for decades.

Anyway, thanks for the pointer, I found them and they're gone.

Hey there MizNelson,

As bowski477 mentioned, it's not possible to remove the Xbox account, but it is used for Microsoft Jigsaw and other games. It's how your achievements and other stats are tracked and how you're viewed on leaderboards. It's free as well.

Xbox accounts cannot be deleted.

Remove the game completely from your Hard Drive.

Disconnect from LIVE.

Re-install the disc while disconnected from LIVE.

Can't play on LIVE or it will update... but that's how you can do it.
