    I'm going to sell my elite controller that's under warranty. do I just deregister it from my account and the new owner then register it and get the remaining warranty?

    The warranty usually is registered with the console. So as soon as the new owner registers the device at myservice.xbox.com, the warranty should be under their account.

    Was the transfer cable that you used an official Xbox transfer cable? I have heard of this issue before but it mainly happens with 3rd party transfer cables. Unfortunately, if that was the case it is not covered by the xbox warranty.

    If you purchase a new 500GB hard drive and transfer all items over then the items will be transferred as a fresh install. Fragmentation cannot be transferred from one drive to another.

    Also, when purchasing a transfer cable please make sure that the cable is an official Xbox transfer cable. 3rd party cable are notorious for failure and Xbox does not warranty 3rd party items.

    Where did you get the transfer cable from? If it was not an official Xbox transfer cable that could very well be the issue. 3rd party cables are notorious for messing things up and are not covered under any type of Xbox warranty.

    Purchased Arcade Games work but sliver accounts only have trails on same Xbox.

    I did have to send in my Xbox under warranty repair. They transfer the license for you I believe. Besides I don't have the old one be able to complete a transfer MS kept it.
