Can't really call that a cop out. As far as I'm aware, the moderators have no real input on how the forum works other than to moderate it. I believe this was a completely unbias and legitimate comment. It's true, a forum with
no users is just an empty page, a forum full of bad people is an unpleasant page and a forum full of great people is just generally a great place to spend some time.
Agree - also, to be fair to Cloudstrife and Darklink, they're clearly doing their best
to make the forum a better place, organising community playdates, engaging in topics and such and are more active than any Moderator i've known over the last few years..

2. Here's my suggestion... stop calling "Playdates" "Playdates"...... it just sounds, well, just wrong! lol

I'm fairy sure the mods report to someone, they don't operate indepedently of Microsoft so they could well pass information back, but its not just about them, in all fairness to them they have posted more then most previous mods.....but that's not saying much.
The community can only do so much, look at what it is now......all that's left is a few decent folk, some trolls and the odd new post.

What can you do with that? How many times have you ever seen the forums advertised...never.....when was the last competiton we had.....who knows, we used to have community organised games, the Fifa league....not sure if that exists any more....not seen it advertised
on here in ages. Myself and others like Phill Dunnett use to give up lots of our spare time for this place to do differen't things but now we wouldn't even entertain the idea of it. I can't even give away free games to folk when I'm not asking anything in
return.
To be honest I have no real issues with the forum, now and again it seems to slow up or it makes a double post but no real issues other than that.
It's more what they haven't done that is the issue.

The nested linking. Just one example is the drop down menus. I use the UK drop down menu and click on UK General Discussion. However it doesn't take me to UK General Discussion, it takes me to a page with a link to UK General Discussion.

Why? There is no reason at all that the link in the menu could not point directly to this page.

Navigation. There is no way to go to a page outside of the thread, other than the very first or very last. Once inside the thread you must scroll to the bottom of the thread for the page numbers. The links to go back to the main page are only at the top of
the page, so you either have to scroll back up or use a bookmark you may have made.

Why are they not mirrored at the top and bottom of the page.

I would go on but those are just two of the examples that were mentioned in the beta and just two of the things that the web-team said they were going to implement. Taken them a while hasn't it.

Not to mention that they've left the forum spell-check feature, the ABC on a tick in rich formatting, broken for over five months .

5. TBH, I'm surprised they even bother with UK forums on here anymore... there can't be more than 30 regular posters can there?

.

I'm not saying I think they should get rid of them btw... the people that are still posting here are (for the most part) a great bunch. It would be nice to see some new names popping up on a regular basis though, or MS might just consider hoofing us into
gen-pop, lol.

I think to be honest that the UK General, UK Game and UK Xbox One boards could be merged rather than just fragmenting the community we have left across three different sections.

I agree with you there Vote completely. its a pain having to shuffle about between boards only for topics to duplicated and the Community Chatter board is pointless.

@Mexicola1984: That's not what I was implying. What I mean is exactly how Dynamic Sausage put it. I say this a lot and I won't ever tire of saying it, this domain is a great way to connect to other players and make new friends. I don't run
the forums and I certainly don't pretend to, but you can count on one thing. I will only ever put the community first. There is no cop-out excuse for the problems that are apparent and I won't try to cover any problems up or try to justify them. Problems come
and go, and although some problems are around much longer than other problems, they do get resolved but it can sometimes take time.

The moderators of course do collaborate with other people, however this is not to say that we hold any power over how things evolve in the future. Believe it or not, a lot of adaptions are taken from feedback that the community relay. Hence the surveys.
If you or anyone else have any suggestions about competitions / community organizes games then please feel free to hit up a thread and discuss it. If you need anything such as information from me or the other moderators then please hit us up. That's what we
are here for.

@Dynamic Sausage: Thank you for pointing that out and adding more detail. I should of been a little more clearer in my last post. Either way, its much appreciated and I am glad that you picked up on what I was trying to project.

@MetalGearFloppy: LOL I wont organize another playdate without thinking about this, ever again. Speaking of playdates, there is one set up right now in the community chatter section if anyone wants to jump in head first. I agree it would
be lovely to see some new meat in here and push some more life into the place. I don't think we would survive a hoof to the gen-pop though Xbox want your opinion on the forum (survey inside). :( didn't do tango and cash much good. lol.

@NEUROTIC HOG: Thank you very much for the compliment mate *fist bump*. It really does mean a lot to us. We do as much as we can within our ability but the awesomeness is down to you and the others for being so cool to be around.

@VoteDC: Those features about the menu drop downs are a pain and I instantly knew what you were talking about the second I saw you describe what happens when you click on the drop down and it takes you to a list of sections rather than to
the section you have just clicked on. It is annoying when you have to over click but lets hope that this is something that is going to be addressed. I will put that forward and find out why it is behaving like that. As for ABC I know this is something I am
missing too. You probably guessed that looking at my spelling though lol.

@VoteDC & Genchy: I will take the forum sections in the UK into consideration but again, its not something that I totally have control over. I think in my own opinion that they are okay as they are and that this place just needs a little
more traffic to fill in the gaps. Though if this is an issue that a lot of you have, then I will be all means be willing to take your thoughts on board.

@Everyone: Again, I am here for you. If you ever need me or have a suggestion or problem, hit me up. If you guys ever want to jump in a party and discuss this over then by all means I will take the time to come sit with you all. That's totally
cool with me. If not, you know where my inbox is.

Thanks guys!

been an off-topic section. As it is there isn't anything we are allowed to discuss there that we can't already discuss on any of the other three discussion boards.

-

However they do have an off-topic thread on there and to be honest that is a pretty good compromise. Only problem being that one of the reasons for game discussion threads being banned, on the old forum, was that an all in one thread made discussions hard
to follow.

-

Yeah I'm still kind of bitter about that ban.

new Ambassador badges are quicker and easier to do that forum updates.

Completely understandable and I know they'll be busy getting the site ready for Xbox One data.

Yet it is almost three years since this incarnation of the forum came into being and not one of the things they said they'd work on has come to pass. Forum features like the spell-check remain broken for extended periods.

As I said to that Support member. I have no patience left.

In regard to spell-checking you can either do it in the quick reply box or in rich formatting click on the little HTML button, correct the spelling in there (as your browser's spell-check operates in the pop-up), and then click update. Not something we should
have to do but it is a work-around.

traffic visiting, rather than creating new sections and hoping the traffic comes.

In the end however it isn't up to me but it's great to be able to talk about it.

@VoteDC: Although I can't speak for the support staff. I can say that if you (or anyone else) ever wants to discuss these UK forums or have more playdates, competitions, interactivity on any scale then please don't hesitate to hit me up. My inbox is always
open for you and we can discuss what ever you like so long as its within reason. As for the forum section Vote, I guess I can see where your coming from. I can't promise any changes soon but if enough of you have any input on the matter I will most definitely
not discard the ideas.

When I used the forums a few years ago and there were playdates, this particular would constantly have 30 visitors at any one time with tonnes of regular users. Now it would seem a little redundant, this forum is very quiet and it would be hard to choose
a game that would attract enough attention from such a small amount of users.

-

Hopefully when the changes come, this page becomes easier to find and picks up the pace again.

14. I used to like playing in the odd forum game, but like sausage said you won't get enough people interested in the same game, which is a shame, most on here prefer battlefield where as I prefer cod, however I would play battlefield if the games were made(
I'm not very good though
