XBOX voucher activation code not readable

My son was given an xbox top up voucher as a gift on a printed till receipt from Smyths Toy Superstores. The first 2 digits are worn away as the printing on the receipt is easy to rub away, and so the voucher code is not readable in full. Contacted Smyths
and they said to contact Microsoft as they don't store the detail. I have the receipt including date, time, till #, Operator and transaction number as well as 23 digits of a 2 digit code. How can I find out the missing characters and redeem the code? I
assume between Smyths and Microsoft, they must know/store what code they allocated else how can it be verified?

Sorry to hear you are running into this problem with your prepaid code. I understand the digits are smudged off but is there no way to guess what the digit could be or is it completely wiped off?

Contact Xbox Support so that they can provide the necessary help.

Customer support would not be able to assist you in this matter. You would have to contact the retailer to have this sorted out. I do understand that you already contacted them but, as it is a printed token they would be the ones to sort this out.

Thank you but the retailer has activated successfully message. What more can they do? Is the voucher owned by xbox and if the voucher is faulty.........

with the voucher code do you get 4 hours of game time double xp or just 4 hours since you activated it?
