I am now using headphones to hear people and the game sound. I have my voice output set to play through both, voice volume at 10 and game volume at 1. My goal is to be able to hear the voice and game clearly. When in party chat, when someone speaks, the
game volume lowers. Great, but in game chat, when someone speaks, the game volume does not lower, why is this and what can I do about it? Thanks.

    :)

Is there any timetable as to when Microsoft is reintroducing working voice control?

    Hi

If you go into the settings section and disable Cortana the console will switch back to the legacy Xbox voice commands.

    support.xbox.com/.../cortana-voice-commands

    "Revert to Xbox commands

If, for whatever reason, Cortana isn’t what you want, you have the option to go back to the original voice control model using the "Xbox" command. When you switch, here’s what you’ll lose:

    Headset voice control

    Expanded commands and voice recognition

    Voice-to-text input (dictation)

You can bring back Cortana at any time.

To revert to the original voice control model:

Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Settings > All settings.

    Select System > Cortana settings.

In the snapped window on the right, highlight the On switch, and press the A button to turn it to Off."

Depending on the game you are playing, you may be able to adjust the game sounds through the in-game audio control menu. Adjusting this may solve your issue.

  5. Hi, it doesn't help. I want the game volume to lower when someone speaks. This works in party chat and not in game chat. Why?

  6. In game chat is sometimes controlled by the in game settings. It is the way the game is built.

  7. Just to be clear, it's normal that the game volume doesn't reduce in game chat? And the only way to hear people in game chat is to turn down the game volume in the actual game settings?

To confirm, this isn't an issue, this is just the way it works?

  10. Are you saying that you can't hear the normal in game chat when the audio settings are at default? You should be able to hear in game chat with the default settings unless someone is being quiet.

  11. I am saying that the game sound lowers when someone speaks in party chat, however it does not in game chat. I have to manually adjust the in-game audio options. Is this normal?

  12. Dylan...yes, as far as I am aware this is normal. A little odd and irritating, maybe, but the way the system works. Hope this info helps! Xbox Voice Settings :)
