XBox Video-Licensing is INCOMPETENT!

I moved some videos from an external USB back to the hard drive today after clearing some room, and it is now official - the last 26 videos of the more than 600 I purchased from XBox now no-longer work. The great old 803c0008 missing license bug (The option
to watch doesn't even work now when I am signed in). This borders on outright fraud, to offer so little recourse to one's customers. The word "Buy" should NEVER be used with XBox Video as you are lucky if you even get to watch something once before the license
gets ***-up and it no longer works.

For the nearly $1000 I've spent, I could have bought DVDs.

There is NO EXCUSE for not offering a Licensing Refresh with a simple button click. I've been using iTunes for 10+ years and have never had a video cease to work.

No matter how nice future XBox products get, I will NEVER again buy a console/computer/phone or any other device from you. In the last 10 years I've spent around $5000 with you all, and while the game support was adequate, and customer
service pleasant, the simple fact is that you agents are powerless to help in a system as poorly designed as yours is. I long to see an eventual class-action law suit over this.

Sony and Nintendo are not perfect, but they always have made it right when a product failed.

Set the video to download again. Since it is already there then all that will be downloaded is the license for it.

It's a more steps than one click but it'll work.

Jena: I sure wish this was true. Many of my shows are no-longer on the marketplace (Ren and Stimpy, for example) - so no download link.

Another complication is that in 2008, XBLA forced me to change my gamer-tag (which used to be my name - for 'security' reasons). Now none of my video purchases show up in the my download queue.

Most recently, I purchased all of "Fringe", the last season of "Hot in Cleveland" and the last season of "Walking Dead" and "The Guild" and they had missing episodes throughout each season and the agent told me there was not any way to fix it, so they refunded
for those (thank God for that). But I still have massive numbers of shows from the Zune/Pre-Zune time that don't show up at all as ever having been purchased, so as each of them stops working, I'm just out of luck.

Here are SOME of them now lost:

"Chuck" (5 seasons)

"Heroes" (1 Season)

"Doctor Who" (8 Seasons)

"Terminator: the Sara Conner Chronicles" (2 Seasons)

"The Even" (1 Season)

"Persons Unknown" (1 Season)

"Ren and Stimpy" (3 seasons)

These have never been refunded, and now they won't work at all.

Makes me nauseous to think of how blind I was to trust the makers of 'Windows', with any amount of my money.

And yet nothing you wrote had a single thing to do with video games for a video game system. Besides that last sentence. That actually would be hilarious to have people reporting that their Xbox's keep doing stuff they don't want to because they were talking
to someone during a game, just to show more of MS incompetency.

If I remember right, the licensing is different for videos than for game content. I believe it's a bit more restricted than game licenses. For example, licenses for videos cannot be transferred during a license transfer. Licenses for games and game content
do not expire.
