So I downloaded the program, and it refuses to connect to the router. I am entering the correct password, and have gone thru all the variants of cg3000d. i am not a tech guy, so i dont understand any of the directions they have posted.

There are a couple of things looking at your modem that may help us improve your connection for download.

First off, I would recommend setting up your device for Port Forwarding. It looks like that model has a firewall that blocks all but Port 80.

Please let us know how that goes and we'll work from there.

Usually error codes that begin 8007 indicate connection issues. There are obviously some exceptions; but since you're describing slow downloads as well, it's a good place to start.

1. Can you tell us a bit about your network?
2. What is the make/model number of your modem/router?
3. Do you have a slow connection with any other devices or any other applications?
   
4. Can you go to speedtest.net and post the results here for us to look at?
