Xbox video apps using HDCP keep messing up video signal

I'm sure other folks have seen this happen. All games and apps like youtube and twitch will work fine, but occasionally boot up netflix, hulu, etc and then the video signal to the tv messes up, the screen flickers on and off, and nothing geta rid of it until
you reatart the xbox. Sometimes a soft reset fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. My question is how can we silve the problem permanently? I just fixed it once with a hard reset, unplugging everything, etc. But it came back in a few days. Again, only happens with
big video streaming apps, nothing else. Ive done factory resets, reinstalled, messed with tv setting, etc etc. Im fairly confident this is a HDCP 2.2 issue with the xbox itself. Has anybody 100% solved this?

Hi Tobias,

This isn't actually an "issue" per say, it's more like a security measure, if you're streaming directly from your console to twitch/mixer or are using the xbox companion app, HDCP is there to prevent any form of piracy. Exactly the same way it does if you
have a capture card. There are some capture cards which have the ability to turn off HDCP.

If you're finding that you've been watching netflix or hulu, and then want to start up a stream or certain things. You need to make sure you close/quit netflix or hulu completely, or else the console will still pick up the application running in the background.

More then likely block due to HDCP requirement, to prevent recording of TV. However I'm having issues just recording gameplay through a Blackmagic Intensity. The video signal goes black just like a HDCP block.

Video Games do not use HDCP.

Maybe you set-top box has HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) enabled. If so, your vga adapter won't work because VGA is analog Video signal.

The Secured cable connection that Jacob's (PUCSnake) reciever is talking about IS the fact that it REQUIRES A VALID HDMI HDCP Handshake before it can send the Audio/Video signals across the HDMI Cable legally.
