Xbox Ventilation error, help please

Hey, I've had my Xbox one for over a year with no problems, yesterday it just shutdown out of the blue and when I put it back on I saw a screen that said there was a ventilation error. Since this happened it wont stay on for longer than 5 mins without shutting
down, to be greeted by the same screen again. I can hear the fan working, and to be honest the xbox doesn't seem that hot when it does shut down. Also, I've had it in the same spot the whole time and never experienced this before. I'm wondering if anyone
else has experienced this?

Unfortunately I'm out of warranty and can't afford the ridiculous fee that Xbox are charging for repairs at the moment. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

does anyone know why the xbox one s console keeps blacking out occassionally?

Please check the ventilation on your xbox, make sure its got plenty of breathing room.

Please see the information below for the correct ventilation for the console. Also I think Xbox One is supposed to shut itself down if it overheats.

I haven't seen this before with that message, Have you checked your power brick to see if that is getting hot.

 

I've had this the past month or so, I first noticed it when starting up Fallout 4, it would shut down, same message when started back up but it would be ok and play as normal for the rest of the evening. I took some temperature readings off it (fan vent)
and it wasn't above 55c

Trying out the GOW 4 beta will do it consistently, managed one game but most of the graphics were invisible. I'm gona try cleaning it out at the weekend and see if that sorts it.
