    To start off some background.

    I’ve been playing Battlefield games for over a decade on Xbox 360, Xbox One and X/S.

    The “cross play” feature in Battlefield 2042 is an option that Xbox users can opt out of. Cross play allows the Xbox user to play against PC and PlayStation users. Most well informed gamers that love console don’t want to play against PC users because the PC community is known for their hacks as well as having keyboard macros and other advantages you can’t get with a controller. So many of us are opting out of cross play.

    Those of us that opt out and that only want to play Battlefield 2042 against other Xbox users, like we’ve been doing for over a decade, can’t get into any matches. Basically we cannot play the game we paid for.

    EA/DICE are locking our posts and refuse to address the issue.

    Hoping that MS might contact EA and ask them why Xbox users cannot play the game they paid for.

    EA Play games not free/costing

    You're welcome and to access the trial simply follow the steps below:

    On your console, open the Store app and search for Battlefield 2042

    Select Battlefield 2042 Xbox One - Choose edition

    Select Battlefield 2042 Xbox One - this should be the first option with no price available

    Select Free Trial with EA Play and then select Install all

    well getting rid of dice was never the answer for me to love the battlefield series again, it was ditching EA and if its going to be opposite and EA sticking with it then they can forget me buying another EA battlefield game, period. EA rushes whatever
    they can with no regrets towards broken/non functional games being released for the gamer. Dice and MS servers would make me consider it, EA breaks everything they touch, nuff said.

    1. Open the EA app on your PC

    2. Navigate to My Collection and select Battlefield 2042, or alternatively search for Battlefield 2042

    3. Select the Download button
