    "xBox, Use a Code" fails if you're holding up the code before it launches


    When trying to redeem a code using the Kinect, if I hold up the code and the say "xBox, Use a Code" it launches the screen and immediately crashes. Reproduced several times using different codes.

    How to Redeem a Code on Xbox One - QR Code or 25 Character Code

    Hey guys! Okay, so you need to figure out how to redeem codes on the Xbox One? Well, there are a few ways of doing this.

    1.
    • Login to Xbox.com (top right hand side)
    • In the top bar, mouse over Xbox Live Gold
    • You'll see 'Redeem Code' in the drop down list
    • Click 'Redeem' and enter your 25 digit code!
    If your code is a game or DLC, it will automatically start downloading once you login to your Xbox, unless you have your Xbox in standby, which will allow it to download right away!


    2.
    • From the main page of the Xbox One dashboard, scroll to the right to the 'Games' section and select that section -or- If your Kinect is connected, say "Xbox, Use a Code"
    • If you have a QR code (that square looking code thing), you can hold it up to your Kinect to redeem it.
    • If you have a 25 digit code, in the lower left of the screen, you have the option to "enter the 25-character code." Click that and enter your code. Confirm your code and you're all set!
    Your item will automatically download. Enjoy!

    Can you test Xbox LIVE connection and tell us if it fails to connect to LIVE. If so, where on this test does it fail to connect? Can you also post up any error code you're getting. Thank you!

    Old Xbox 360 update failed

    Error code E66 contains the following message:

    System error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.

    Status code: E66

    If you get this message and error code, it means that the Xbox 360 console you’re using has been modified or tampered with. This means that the console is no longer able to connect to Xbox LIVE, download system updates, or play new games that require system
    updates.

    Try this...

    Clear Any Failed system updates that cause the console to error.

    1. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button (the small one which you connect the pad with)

    2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console

    3. Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.

    4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.
