    Xbox update was corrupt, has tried to re-install but can't


    Earlier today i went to play my Xbox 360, upon turning it on it was running very slowing and continually freezing. Eventually the system seemed to figure out for itself that a recent update was corrupt and needed to be re-installed.

    I was told the system would need to re-start in order for the update to be re-installed, sadly it didn't work so smoothly. When the system re-started the update failed to install, I have tried testing the network connection but it refuses to connect to xbox
    live, It connects to the internet and then immediately notifies me that the system update is required. The update will not install and the connection to xbox live fails. (my brother has an xbox 360 and connects to live just fine on the same internet connection)

    I have been searching online for possible solutions to my problem. I have tried deleting the hard drive cache, deleting my profile (which i havent been able to re-download because i can't connect to xbox live). And i have been also trying for some time now
    to manually install the updates via USB which is proving to be much more difficult than expected. I have formatted the USB and cleared all data on the USB, plugged it into the xbox and restarted it but the xbox just doesn't seem to recognise that the USB is
    present. I have also tried deleting the most recent update on the system which hasnt helped.

    Any advise would be very helpful.

    Tried both suggestions. Re-downloaded my profile and checked for corrupt files. Still can't download the update,

    console keeps freezing when playing games online

    you can also try re-updating your system update here is the link it is solution #5 at the bottom to re-install the update

    support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help

    you may also have a corrupt update.

    HELP MY GAME WON'T START

    It sounds like the game has got corrupt during the re-installation :( the only way would be to possibly try another re-installation when making sure its not connected at all or to wait until you have some more data and to update it.

    You will need to delete the game and re-install it as the game has become corrupt.

    Same thing. Made it 22%, now I can't even restart a new game without getting corrupt DLC. I tried Mister Fitzer's suggestion and deleted the files in 'Memory' and re-installed it with the same error message.

    Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, and hold off on any updates for the game until it has finished installing.
