XBOX UPDATE STUCK ON "Preparing console" HELP

same here stuck at 80% turned of and when turned back on stuck on xbox green screen while waiting for diagnostic tool to download i kept hard resetting the console on the 4th attemt it started up fine and had new dash

I'm having this same exact issue. Currently sitting at the green xbox one logo. I'll just let it sit for awhile and also hope for a miracle.

 

i updated the xbox in guessing the preview program and its been stuck on preparing console about 80% (for 5-6 hours!), then the electricity in our hole apartment-complex was fallen out.. ;-( - Now, it won't boot past the green Xbox one logo screen anymore!

So, WHAT´ S TO DO? - Already tried the "OSUDT2" - no change.. :.(

But - Why shall WE´ve lost all our extra ordinary "one time" (!!) add-ons because of preview-help(!)in`?!

Microsoft-Support in austria says nothin´..

So does this usb factory reset delete all your games and save files because that isnt an option really, far too many hour put in for a crappy uodate to ruin it

The console wouldn't update for about 2 hour so I hard reset it and now its been on the green logo screen for about 7 hours straight (left my console on all night).

I doubt OSUDT2 works, since the update goes through, just doesn't boot. You need to choose Restore Factory Defaults, it will delete all everything - but it will boot to the new update.

You're going to need to do an offline factory reset. Link to directions have been posted a few times.

I had the same issue as you all with the green screen after being stuck on about 80% 'preparing console'

Well i turned it off by the mains and kept the plug off for about 4 hours, when i turned it back on preparing to do the usb factory reset thing it worked on its own.

So try just turning it off from mains for a little while then turn it on again and give it 5 mins on green screen, hope this works for you all and i wasnt just lucky

Destiny and 3 expansions

Rockband 4 and 120+ songs

NBA 2K16

Madden 16

Fallout 4 Preorder

Tomb Raider

FIFA 15

FIFA 16

I just had the same result as ashleyk3 I came home from work when this green screen issue happened last night about 22 hours ago. I was downloading the factory reset file and the Xbox actually booted up. Very shocked and astonished I thought surely the USB
factory reset would be the only thing to fix my Xbox. I did somehow lose a couple games I had saved on the hd I'm not sure if they were on my external or internal but I bet they were on my internal hd. But I don't really care I don't have a data cap on my
internet from my provider so I lucked out. Probably the coolest thing about this was I actually got a phone call from microsoft while I was at work to check and see if my Xbox was fixed or not didn't talk to her cause I didn't know I got called but I thought
that actually showed some customer service since i was really pretty *** about the Xbox support telling me to go to the forums when there was no answers here. So kudos to microsoft for that.
