    Stuck at "Preparing console" after update

    After doing the hard reset I'm stuck on the green Xbox logo screen once I launched my xb1 again

    Hey there. I assume you're in the preview program? Quite a few people have been experiencing this. The recommended troubleshooting is turning the console off by holding the Xbox logo for 10 seconds until it shuts down and unplugging it for 30 seconds (sometimes
    you will have to leave it unplugged longer). If that doesn't work, you'll have to do a factory reset using the Offline System Update Diagnostic tool (support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool).

    You'll also want to post in the preview forums for all preview related issues (forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx)

    So even if they fix this , how is anyone who has a bricked bone going to fix there issues other then sending it, i cant even go to my dash at all...

    Yeah so I put the restore factory defaults on the flash drive, went through the steps, had to pick my language and time zone and everything again, put in my microsoft account and when it signed and brought me to dash, it's the new dash! Weird...

    K oddik's fix works. I was so nervous, I thought I had lost my Xbox One. Microsoft really needs to work on these update failures...

    If anyone is still active on this thread, the green screen just happened to me as well. I'm really worried about it, but I will call MS about it in the morning. :-(

    Doing a USB Restore Factory Defaults will fix this issue. It's a bit of work and you need a usb flash drive but it's the only why to fix it with out sending in your xbox. It will also leave you with a working build that you were supposed to get

    I can also confirm doing the factory reset via usb flash drive did work and it booted back up with the new dashboard, however I have lost apps and possibly some games and no clue what they were but my Netflix and Amazon were definitely gone. Also just to
    be safe I unplugged my external during the reset and plugged it back in and everything on it seems to be ok

    I'm stuck now. I'm reluctant to turn it off because that seem's to lead to further issues... Has anybody stuck it out and achieved success?
