Xbox update is destroying my internet connection

my console is currently trying to update. But it is taking a very long time.

my internet connection is very fast, and I haven't had any issues like this before.

When the console starts updating the internet in my house drops to a very low speed. At some points the update fails and the internet speed is back to normal! what on earth have microsoft done!

xbox one is genuinely a terrible console, the updates I have been recovering are killing the console (The last update rendered titanfall unplayable)

anyone have any solutions? Other then sticking with ps4

Offline Xbox One Question

Hi all, I own an Xbox One and will be without an internet connection for the next two months. If I buy a new game for my Xbox One and it needs an update, can I still play my game without updating? I won't have an internet connection so I won't be able to install any updates.

 

Mandatory Update a real thing?

I've heard that if you disconnect the Xbox one from the internet and new updates become available, you'll have to do a mandatory update if you don't want to update it with the new available updates after some time (assuming that time is a few weeks) even if you don't connect it back to the internet and won't be able to really do anything with the console until you reconnect to the internet and do the mandatory update. I need to know because I'm planning on buying the One and game offline for a temporary time until my internet is back up. Setting up the Xbox won't be a problem which I'll be doing somewhere else with an internet connection as some of you already know from my other thread. Just need to know if the mandatory update is true or not because if it is, I'll just wait until my internet is back up then buy the One without having to struggle with the mandatory update.
